Jaidip Khurana

Jaidip Khurana is a leadership coach working independently and at the Asian Leadership Institute, Chiang Mai (www.asianleadership.com/jaidip-khurana/). Jaidip combines his in-depth understanding of the corporate world with a holistic approach to leadership transformation. Over the last eight years he has coached senior executives and teams across India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Russia, UK and the US.

He has extensive corporate experience and understands working in stressful environments having, spent 20 years in investment banking in London, Hong Kong and Singapore. While achieving success in his professional life, Jaidip realised that he wanted to do more and broaden his perspective. After a process of introspection, he decided to close the chapter on a successful banking career.

After banking, he found himself still working with people and organisations but now in a very different capacity. Jaidip found it fulfilling to connect with people and work with them to become more aware of themselves, equip them to make better decisions and enhance their relationships.

Niravta Mathur

Niravta has more than 20 years of experience in Marketing, PR and events, including for some of UK’s biggest fashion, luxury and lifestyle brands. She has also produced events for the Prime Minister of India, including his first official visit to the UK at Wembley Stadium.

In 1999, after taking the Art of Living course and inspired by its founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, she became more involved in the wellness and conscious living space, including teaching Art of Living programmes, which include breathing and meditation techniques.

In recent years she has co-founded a successful mobile app based business, which dedicates its work to merging spirituality with technology by reviving ancient knowledge and wisdom such as yoga, meditation and astrology and creating products that can help people in their day-to-day lives.

Through her work, she is passionate about not just preserving this ancient wisdom, but deciphering it accurately and precisely and providing it to the end user in a way that can be utilized practically in their life – empowering them to manage and master it better.

Karyn Augustinus

Karyn Augustinus has had a lifetime of struggle with food and weight. Company director by day, and passionate foodie 24/7, Karyn has tried many diet and lifestyle changes since her teens. In 2017 she committed to a ketogenic diet and fees like she has finally found the way of eating that best serves her health and wellbeing goals, as well as allowing her to manage her weight without feeling deprived. Dr. Shireen Kassam

Shireen is a Consultant Haematologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College Hospital, London with a specialist interest in the treatment of patients with lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system). She is also passionate about promoting plant-based nutrition for the prevention and reversal of chronic diseases and for maintaining optimal health after treatment for cancer.

She qualified as a medical doctor in 2000, initially training in general medicine, and gaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP; 2003). She then specialised in Haematology and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath; 2008). During training, she took time out to undertake a PhD (University of London, 2011). Her research investigated the role of selenium, an essential micronutrient, in sensitising cancer cells to chemotherapy. She was able to show that supra-nutritional doses of selenium could enhance the action of chemotherapy in the laboratory. She has published a number of peer-reviewed papers in the field of lymphoma.

Shireen discovered the power of nutrition for the prevention and treatment of disease in 2013 and since then has been following a whole food plant-based diet. She has immersed herself in the science of nutrition and health, reading scientific papers and books, attending nutrition conferences and completing recognised continuing professional development activities to keep up to date in the field. She has completed the eCornell certification in plant-based nutrition. With her medical and scientific training, Shireen is uniquely placed to interpret nutritional data and incorporate the latest findings into daily medical practice.

Shireen founded Plant-based health professionals UK in 2017. Since then she has been appointed as Visiting Professor of Plant-Based Nutrition at Winchester University with the aim of producing high quality educational material and courses. She is also a member of the Research Advisory Committee for the Vegan Society.

Amy Odene

Amy is the Campaigns Manager for ProVeg UK. Her passion for plant-based food, along with her education and corporate background, serves as a perfect foundation for consulting with companies to help increase and improve their plant-based options. A speaker in the field of school meals, Amy speaks about the importance of plant-based nutrition in public sector catering.

Dr. Margaret Lobo

Dr Margaret Lobo has worked tirelessly in the field of music therapy for over 30 years to help some of the most vulnerable people in society in the UK and India. Together with a small team of highly skilled and dedicated therapists in London, she built up the work of the Otakar Kraus Music Trust (www.okmtrust.co.uk) from modest beginnings to an organisation operating in 17 venues providing over 3,000 music therapy sessions annually for over 250 people. 
INDIA - In 2005, Margaret was invited to extend her work to India and Nepal, where she established The Music Therapy Trust as a registered charity, starting the first Post Graduate Diploma in music therapy training Indian musicians to become qualified music therapists.  Over the past 10 years the students have provided clinical music therapy on a volunteer basis as part of their training at over 70 NGO’s for hundreds of children and adults who are disabled or marginalised, including slum children, those with cancer, palliative care, gender issues and isolated elderly with dementia & Alzheimer’s. 


Margaret is one of the named mentors for the ‘ASHA Foundation, “Inspirational Women from Around the World” and in 2003 was nominated for the Beacon prize for her philanthropic work. In 2007, she was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA) and in 2010 received an Honorary Doctorate from Middlesex University for her major contribution to the community in the UK, India and Nepal in the field of Health and Social Sciences.


In November 2017 Margaret and her late husband Walter were both presented with the International Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship Award for their 30 years of volunteer service to their music therapy work in the UK, India and Nepal.

In January 2018 the Prime Minister of Great Britain honoured Margaret with a “Point of Light” award for her inspiring voluntary work and fundraising for The Otakar Kraus Music Trust in the UK. The money raised and the work done in establishing and running the charity has made a real difference to people in the community. This is the Prime Minister’s daily award for volunteers, recognising outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making positive changes in their communities.

Mathew Aldridge

Mathew Aldridge, who like to be called ‘Matt’ first began to learn about Ayurveda in 1998 in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. He is now a fully qualified Ayurvedic Therapist and maintains regular contact with colleagues in Sri Lanka at the Manasa Ayurveda Hospital and the Nagananda Buddhist Ayurvedic (Teaching) Hospital. He has more than a decade's experience in Buddhist meditation and his work on Buddhism, mindfulness and mental health has been peer reviewed and published internationally. Matt has full personal indemnity insurance as a member of the FHT and is also registered as a Mental Health professional (RMN) in the UK.

Philip Dowling

Philip Dowling has been practicing and teaching naturopathy for 21 years. After suffering years of poor health, he visited a naturopath in 1990, and after several months of positive application rediscovered good health. In 1991 Philip went to naturopathic college, graduating in 1993. He began practicing in Takapuna, in 1994, and for the following six years ran a clinic and developed a healing retreat north of Auckland. 
 
As an educator, Philip developed community education classes at three schools for several years before beginning to tutor at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies in 1997. From 1999 to 2014 Philip managed the Naturopathy and Nutrition faculties at Wellpark College. In this role he managed the Naturopathy diploma until 2010, before developing and leading Wellpark's Bachelor of Naturopathy degree from 2010. He also introduced and developed the Nutrition diploma in 2004. During his time at Wellpark, Philip taught students a range of naturopathic and human science subjects including anatomy and physiology, nutritional biochemistry, clinical nutrition, and naturopathic philosophy.
 
In 2007 Philip’s book, Journeys Back to Health, was published. This book tells the stories of eight people who had recovered from serious disorders through nutrition, naturopathy, and other natural health approaches.

Glenn White

Glenn White is a Buteyko Institute certified practitioner trainer and director of the Buteyko Breathing Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand. Glenn overcame a lifetime of asthma and allergies after completing a Buteyko breathing course in 2000. He has been asthma, allergy and drug free since that time. Overcoming a lifetime illness led Glenn to train as a Buteyko Institute practitioner in the UK, returning to open the Buteyko Breathing Clinic in New Zealand in 2001.


The clinic specialises in a wide range of breathing-related disorders including snoring, sleep apnoea, insomnia, asthma, allergies, hay fever, chronic bronchitis, stress-related conditions, panic attacks and chronic fatigue. The clinic also offers specialised programmes for athletes wanting to boost sport performance. Thousands of people have attended Glenn’s clinic for help with breathing disorders.


Glenn presents at conferences both nationally and internationally and was part of a group of four practitioners that travelled to Havana, Cuba in 2004 to train 14 practitioners and teach Buteyko to 200 children and adults with asthma. He contributes regular articles on breathing disorders to local media and his work has attracted media interest, including a feature on TV's Campbell Live in 2006 and on the series Is Modern Medicine Killing You? screening in 2012.


Glenn teaches courses and trains practitioners in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan. His goal is to have breathing assessments and retraining incorporated into general practice to help reduce the burden of breathing disorders like asthma and sleep apnoea. Dr. Simon Costain

Dr. Simon Costain is the owner and main practitioner of The Gait and Posture Centre LLP. He has held a Consultant Podiatry post in the NHS and has been in Harley Street since 1985. He holds a FCPod(s): This is a full Fellowship in podiatric surgery. He practiced as a podiatric surgeon for 12 years but concentrates now on avoiding podiatric surgery in dealing with specific foot problems; a FCPod(M): This is a full fellowship in Podiatric Medicine and he is entitled to prescribe a limited list of POM’s; a MCPod: Full member of the College of Podiatry; a B.Sc. This is an internationally recognised qualification of a podiatrist who has completed a degree in podiatry; registration with the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, college of Podiatry and the Health Professions Council (HPC). Simon Costain has 43 years of experience as a Podiatrist and was one of the founding fathers of podiatric sports medicine in the UK. He has held several positions as a podiatrist within the NHS before moving into private practice. He was the Podiatrist to the Great Britain Team at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. Dr. Costain has co-authored the CD-ROM Sports Injuries of the Foot & Ankle, published by Primal Pictures. Dr. Costain has lectured at the London Hospital Medical Schools’ Diploma in Sports Medicine, Dance UK’s Healthier Dancer conferences, British Association of Sports Medicine Conferences for doctors and physiotherapists, and lectures nationally and internationally to podiatrists, osteopaths and other allied professions. He has been a consultant to the Royal Marines at (CTCRM) the Commando Training Centre in Lympstone, Devon. Dr. Costain was one of the originators of cad-cam technology in podiatry, having won a SMART award from the Department of Trade and Industry to develop cad-cam technology for orthotic manufacture.

Simon has been involved in sport at county and national level including athletics, cricket and rugby. He is an experienced sailor and yachtsman holding a commercially endorsed ocean yachtmaster qualification as a skipper and has sailed many thousands of miles, including three trans Atlantics in 1985,1999 and 2017. He has raced in the double handed AZAB (Azores and back) races in 2011 and 2011 and will do so again in 2019, this time on a Class 40 race boat. He won 1st place in the 69th JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race in the Laser SB3 class. Simon is a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), the Royal Cruising Club (RCC) and the Ocean cruising club (OCC), and a long term member of the RAF Yacht club in Hamble.


Simon maintains a keen interest in helping sportsmen and women recover from injury and to return to their sports and understands the physical stress that the body can suffer and in particular, ways of mitigating the enormous strain on the feet and legs.


As Simon Costain has said: "we encase our feet in leather coffins most of the day and totally restrict their movement unlike our hands which are constantly being exercised as we carry out our normal every day tasks. No wonder they feel mistreated – they are!’

Dr. Keerti Mathur (Kit) 

Kit has been associated with the Gait and Posture Centre since 2007 having studied Osteopathic Medicine at the British School of Osteopathy and Oxford Brookes University graduating with a BSc (Hons) in 2006. He has a keen interest in the treatment of arthritic problems with functional and conservative Osteopathic technique to promote better joint movement and reduce pain effectively. As director of studies for the department of Osteopathic Medicine at Sri Sri University, India, he has developed India's first degree in Osteopathy as well as introduced areas of bio-mechanical and functional medicine to pre and post-operative care in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. Kit has also spoken on ergonomics and posture in commercial, medical and legal sectors. Outside of clinic he is a keen musician and sound engineer, recording a number of studio and stage performances as well as teaching meditation and breathing techniques. Kit supports Simon Costain in taking a wider view of postural problems that originate from foot and ankle concerns, which may affect pelvic and spinal posture.

Francesca Del Nero

Dr. Ananda Samir Chopra

Dr. med. Ananda Samir Chopra was born and brought up in Germany to Indian parents. He studied Medicine and Classical Indology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. After becoming a registerd physician in Germany, he went on to study Ayurveda in Kolkata, India, for one year. Since 1996 he has been serving as medical director of the Ayurveda-Klinik at the Habichtswald-Klinik AYURVEDA in Kassel, Germany. About 400-600 in-patients per year and a steadily growing number of out-patients are being treated in this unique clinical Ayurveda-section at a German hospital with authentic āyurvedic medicine (especially the so called Pañcakarma-therapy) in a constant dialogue with modern biomedicine. 
Chopra received a doctoral degree in the history of medicine at the University of Bonn, Germany, with a thesis on an ancient Indian medical text. Taking temporary leave from his hospital-duties, he worked from 2009 to 2011 as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Heidelberg in a research-project on the modern history of Āyurveda. Continuing teaching and research on the history of Āyurveda, his research-interests include the history of ancient Āyurveda, the formation of modern professional Āyurveda in India in the past two centuries and the practice and history of Āyurveda in Europe. He has been teaching students of anthropology and medicine as well as conducted courses for medical doctors on theory and practice of Āyurveda. His publications include articles and book-chapters on historical and theoretical aspects as well as on the practical application of Āyurveda. 


Since his childhood Chopra has been learning classical Indian (Hindustani) music and has for some time been honorary director of studies at the Tagore-Institute, Bonn, Germany.

Dr. Harsha Gramminger

Dr. Harsha Gramminger is a medical doctor from Germany. Dr.Gramminger, originally a conventional medical  professional found the holistic medical system of Ayurveda as her approach to treat patients. Since the year 2000,  Dr. Gramminger has been managing  her own ayurvedic clinic in Germany. Dr. Rahoul Masrani

Dr Rahoul Masrani is a visiting fellow and course teacher at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His personal transformation began in 2007, when he decided to leave the banking industry and pursue a Master’s degree and, eventually, a PhD in Media and Communications. Around the same time, Rahoul discovered yoga as a means to assist in the treatment of a back injury. His yoga journey became part of an overall health management system and spiritual shift, which eventually involved embracing veganism and leading a more conscious life. Russell Dean

Russell Dean achieved his degree in chiropractic in 1991 from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (at that time the only chiropractic college in the UK). He then established one of the first clinics to integrate orthodox and complementary health professionals (including chiropractors, medical doctors, acupuncture and physiotherapists) at the Windsor Remedy Centre, where he saw over 10,000 patients.


His career has been a progression away from offering symptomatic relief, and moving more and more towards a vision of healthcare where the healing comes from within, and health is defined as optimum function rather than being measured solely by symptoms.

Dr. Carol Samuel

Professor. David Sibbritt is professor of Epidemiology at the Faculty of Health, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. Tomaz Mueller

Tomaz Mueller is an experienced complementary medicine practitioner and internationally known health educator in Ayurveda, a traditional system of Indian medicine. Dr. Neal Barnard

Neal Barnard, M.D., F.A.C.C., is an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and founder of Barnard Medical Center.
Dr. Barnard is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the 2016 recipient of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s Trailblazer Award, and has led numerous research studies investigating the effects of diet on diabetes, body weight, and chronic pain, including a groundbreaking study of dietary interventions in type 2 diabetes, funded by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Barnard has authored more than 70 scientific publications as well as 18 books, including the New York Times best-sellers Power Foods for the Brain, 21-Day Weight Loss Kickstart, and the USA Today best-seller Dr. Barnard’s Program for Reversing Diabetes.   
As president of the Physicians Committee, Dr. Barnard leads programs advocating for preventive medicine, good nutrition, and higher ethical standards in research. Francesco Pignatti

Known as The IronManager, Francesco Pignatti is a vegan body builder. Fran lived 12 years in London where he worked as a consultant and Strategy & Innovation Manager at Canon Europe. Susanna Di Castro Horn

Janet Doman

Janet Doman has been the director of the Institutes for Achievement of Human Potential, Philadelphia, USA since 1980. Julia Graves is a healer with a background in several modalities. Spencer Doman is the grandson of Glenn and Katie Doman and the son of Douglas and Rosalind Doman, he grew up on the grounds of The Institutes and witnessed The Institutes work with both brain-injured and well children. He was enrolled in the Early Development Program of the Evan Thomas Institute, and his parents taught him how to read, do math, and be physically excellent at a young age. Douglas Doman

Douglas Doman is the vice director of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential. As president of The Institutes in Europe, he is responsible for The Institutes operations and families throughout Europe. He also serves on the board of directors of The Institutes in Mexico, where courses and the lecture series are presented each May.

As the son of Katie and Glenn Doman, he grew up on The Institutes campus knowing the brain-injured children on the clinical program. Douglas’s early years on the staff were spent creating the School for Human Development, a school for brain-injured young adults. He and his staff created the world’s first Human Development Course, a circuit utilising physical activities that promote brain organisation and development.

From 1977 to 1980, Douglas and his staff made significant breakthroughs in the physical development of well and brain-injured children. They researched and discovered the quantification of human mobility and, working with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Vehicle for Initial Crawling.

Dr. B. M. Hegde

MD, PhD, FRCP (Lond, Edin, Glasg, & Dublin), FACC, FAMS

A born teacher, Prof. B. M. Hegde started teaching in a medical school at the age of 23. He is the former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University. He trained in some of the best medical institutions in India, UK, and the USA. He was appointed as a visiting professor of Cardiology at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1982. He is also the first Indian teacher to be invited as an examiner for the Royal College since 1988, both in the UK and Ireland.

 

One of India’s highest civilian awards, Padma Bhushan, was awarded to him in 2010. He is also the recipient of Dr. BC Roy National Award in the category of Eminent Medical teacher, the highest medical award in India.

Robin is the Founder and Chairman of the UK registered charity, Yes to Life. His youngest daughter Bryony contracted a rare cancer at age 9yrs and had two further cancers, the second of which proved fatal at 23yrs. Robin and his family experienced firsthand the immense difficulties facing those who wish to look outside of the ‘box’ of conventional cancer care. The realisation that there is, in fact, an enormous wealth of potentially helpful strategies available, but that finding and funding appropriate ones is immensely hard, prompted him into setting up a charity to be a source of good quality information and support, outside of any commercial agenda.

Madan is a genome biologist. He is the inventor of the Molecular Copy Counting technique. This technique is providing unusual insights into the highly plastic nature of the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes and describe the dynamics of DNA changes in normal processes like aging and in human disease including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases and various inherited diseases. The techniques also point to uncertainty in biology which calls for complementary approaches for appreciating human health and disease particularly in the highly intractable areas of human aging, psychosomatic diseases and disease complexes where direct approaches are unlikely to yield results.
